Please note, the PHMSA annual random drug testing rate will be 50% in 2025. For all other DOT Agencies, the 2025 annual random testing rates will remain the same as their 2024 rates.

DOT Oral Fluid Specimen Collection Procedures Guidelines

The Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance (ODAPC) is pleased to announce the release of the “DOT Oral Fluid Specimen Collection Procedures Guidelines.” The new Guidelines provide guidance concerning normal oral fluid collection procedures and some of the more common problems or situations that may be encountered during an oral fluid collection. It is important to note that the information contained in the Guidelines is not intended to be used to interpret or be viewed as adding to or modifying the legal requirements of Part 40.

Substance Abuse Evaluations
SRS maintains an extensive network of qualified providers locationed nationwide for performing comprehensive clinical interviews and standardized assessments on applicants and employees who have violated testing regulations that have originated within any of the DOT’s modes including FMCSA, FAA, FRA, FTA, USCG and PHMSA, or a company’s internal drug and alcohol testing policy. SAP Providers are availables to assess clients (applicants/employees) in-office or through a virtual platform.

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) is a structured approach designed to support individuals and groups exposed to traumatic events. It helps mitigate the emotional impact of critical incidents like accidents, disasters, or violent events.
