How Do I Know If I’m Seeing a DOT Qualified SAP?
Are you looking for a DOT qualified SAP due to a DOT failed drug and/or alcohol test? Failing a DOT-mandated drug and/or alcohol test is more than just an inconvenience; it can have a major impact on your career and finances. The longer it takes to find a SAP the longer you are out of work. Finding a qualified SAP quickly is a huge benefit to your return to duty process, as sometimes this process can get held up by trying to figure out if your SAP has the correct qualifications.
How to Find a DOT Qualified SAP
When an employee fails a drug and/or alcohol test, their employer will either refer them to a SAP list or a service agent. While using a SAP list might seem like an easier path – you can locate a SAP on your own and set up an appointment for your initial evaluation – many times employees are left doing the heavy lifting. Oftentimes, employees will have to call several SAPs, wait for returned calls, ensure the SAP is DOT qualified, and hope that they have availability.
For peace of mind employees can contact SAP Referral Services (SRS), a service agent who has a network of qualified SAPs nationwide. Not only does SRS ensure their SAPs are DOT qualified, they can connect an employee to a SAP typically within 72-business hours. This gets the return to duty process started quickly.
Find a SAP Quickly!
Per the Department of Transportation regulation 49 CFR Part 40, a DOT qualified SAP requires Substance Abuse Professionals to successfully complete training and an examination. You’ll have to ensure the SAP is qualified before you begin the process. If the SAP you intend to meet with does not hold current qualifications, and you complete the return to duty process with them, you will have to complete it again with a different SAP.
We know that it’s a priority for employees to get back to work as soon as possible. Get in touch with SRS to get started today!
