FAA Employees, Are You Looking for FAA SAP Providers in Pennsylvania?

The Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA, monitors drug and alcohol use for all employees. Employees are required to undergo drug and alcohol testing if they are assigned to perform safety-sensitive duties. The DOT requires FAA mandated employers to complete these tests to guarantee public and air safety.

All FAA and DOT-mandated employees are required to take these tests and the results determine if a safety-sensitive employee can return to work or if they must step away from their safety sensitive duties and complete a SAP program.

Result of Post-Accident Drug Test

A post-accident drug test is a drug and/or alcohol test that is carried out within 24 hours after an accident has occurred. If a DOT mandated employee fails the DOT drug and/or alcohol test, they are required to stop all safety sensitive work and enroll in a SAP program in their geographic region. The program is completed with a qualified SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) who will recommend appropriate treatment and/or education and follow-up with the employee’s progress. After an FAA mandated employee complies with the drug and/or alcohol treatment or education, they will return to see the SAP and be required to complete a return to duty and/or alcohol drug test. If the result of this test comes back with no sign of drugs or alcohol, they may be returned to a safety-sensitive position.
